Preview Day 5: Quarter Finals day

Hits: 635

WINTERTHUR. The headlining games today are also the last two games of the day. Germany will play Brazil at 1900 and Austria will hope for a win against the home side at 2015. For the bottom six teams today is the last double elimination chance and tomorrow is finals day to determine who will lift the President’s Cup.

Will it be Serbia or Poland?

With Serbia and Poland the favourites for the President’ Cup both teams will be hoping for clear wins against their opposition today. It is still open for anyone at this stage however and Australia and Belgium should not be discounted yet.

Germany still undefeated
Germany have lost one set in this competition so far and so come into this game against Brazil as the favourites. They will need to lift their performance from yesterday however, at times struggling against the USA. Whoever wins this match will have one less game to play tomorrow so both teams will be fighting for a win. The game will begin at 1900.

Switzerland on the path to the finals
The host nation and Austria have played a good tournament so far. Whereas Switzerland remain with Germany as the only other undefeated team Austria suffered a defeat to Germany on day 3. Switzerland also have the advantage of the home crowd and will be expectant for a win and the added benefit of one less game tomorrow. We’ve seen spectacular play from the young Austrian team however so the game is able to won by either team.

Highlights today

Germany and Brazil at 1900
Switzerland and Austria at 2015
